Sequoia National Park

DSF documented at least nine of the 31 newly discovered invertebrate species in the caves of Sequoia National Park, working with cave specialist and international explorer, Dr. Joel D. Despain and his associate Benjamin Tobin. These new species include a springtail, millipede, pseudo-scorpion and spiders that (probably) exist nowhere in the world other than the two caves where DSF filmed.

Dr. Despain eloquently elucidates the National Park Service mission when he reminds viewers that even these minute invertebrates, scarcely visible to the naked eye, are crucial to life on Earth, and are at the very heart of what the park service is all about: protecting all creatures, great and small.
